The split system
This system requires both an outdoor unit and one inside your home. It can be composed of an air conditioner, furnace and coil or a heat pump and air handler. Or, a split system can include a heat pump and furnace, or an air conditioner and air handler.
The packaged unit
Rather than having a separate unit outdoors and in, a packaged unit home comfort system houses all heating and cooling components in a single cabinet.
